GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION (GDPR)

General Data Protection Regulation

The EU General Data Protection Regulation has changed the way personal data is collected, shared and used globally. The GDPR is a new regulation designed to improve data protection for EU citizens by helping to regulate data protection measures in the EU as well as data about EU citizens in non-EU organizations

The penalties for non-compliance with the GDPR are severe – up to 4% of global annual turnover or €20 million, whichever is greater.

To ensure GDPR compliance, organizations will need to make changes to policies, processes and contracts, as well as technical and organizational measures. In some cases, these changes could be complex and significant.
